The Hawksnest Bay Beach is located on the northwest side of the island and is a local favorite. Its soft sand and beautiful views make a perfect place to relax for the day. Note that you’ll want to arrive early to get the best sun!
According to the Travel Channel, Trunk Bay is among St. John’s finest beaches, and part of the National Park Service. At Trunk Bay, you can relax in the sun and gaze out on the crystal clear waters. If you’re into snorkeling or scuba diving, the coral reefs are located right offshore, and you can even rent snorkeling equipment nearby.
Maho Bay is an easy drive for families with kids. The narrow sandy beach has plenty of sun and shade. The sandy bottom extends out about 20 yards – making it a wonderful beach to wade, swim, float, and hang out! And the shallow, sandy shoreline is a great spot for kids and young children to play and make sandcastles. However, unsurprisingly, this beach can get quite crowded, so we recommend getting out early and claiming a good spot to enjoy the day!
