If you have young children, try to find a beach with a bay or a cove that offers mellow waves and shallow water, so your little ones can enjoy the water without the danger.
Another thing to remember when traveling to the Virgin Islands is that the sun here is likely more intense than you are used to. Even if you have a “base tan”, you can still suffer sunburns or sun damage from too much time under the sun’s rays. So, before you head out, make sure you slather your kids and yourself with sunblock. Also, the road can be narrow, mountainous, and serpentine, so it’s important to take your time and drive slow.
