About Hawksnest Bay
Hawksnest Bay Beach is located on the northwest side of the island, about a two-mile drive from Cruz Bay. It’s a local favorite beach due to its soft sand, beautiful shoreline, convenient parking, and more. You can easily come to Hawksnest Bay and make a day of it. In fact, you may want to come early and grab a spot.
However a word of caution: this beach area is less protected than some of the others on St. John. Due to the beach’s orientation near a reef, the waters are prone to larger waves and stronger tides. It is beautiful and makes a great backdrop for your day away. However, if you’re not a good swimmer or experienced snorkeler, exercise extreme caution.
Getting There
Want directions to Hawksnest Bay Beach? If you’re traveling from our St. John Car Rental location in Cruz Bay, you will take North Shore Road and drive north about ten minutes. With all the sights to enjoy along the way, you’ll feel like you get there in no time. If you haven’t already reserved your rental car, be sure to do that before you arrive.
