Spend Fall Break in St. John | Jeep Rental

Elaine Ione Sprauve Library and Museum

One of the island’s oldest structures, the Elaine Ione Sprauve Library and Museum, houses a library and a museum that chronicles the history of the island. The building’s distinctive architecture is highlighted by its vivid yellow facade and white accents. The home was constructed in the 18th century and had several owners before becoming abandoned. In the late 1970s, it was brought back to life and made available to the public. The library is also fascinating because it has preserved many documents and newspapers from the island’s and the larger Caribbean region’s past. The building is open to the public and can be toured in its entirety in a few hours.

Cinnamon Bay Beach

The longest beach on the island, Cinnamon Bay Beach, helps to spread out the crowds and provides a more tranquil experience. The quiet, warm seas make for ideal snorkeling conditions. As you explore beneath the waves, it’s likely that you may see a few turtles and a lot of fish. The island’s deer, however, is one of the more intriguing creatures to visit the shore. Deer frequently can be seen relaxing on the flawless white sand beach as they emerge from the trees in the early morning and late afternoon.

Virgin Islands National Park

Virgin Islands National Park is one of the island’s principal attractions. It encompasses some of the surrounding ocean areas as well as two-thirds of the island. Numerous historical features, such as prehistoric petroglyphs and the remnants of the plantations that were formerly prevalent on the island, are located within the park. The park is filled with stunning beaches and challenging hiking paths in addition to significant historical sites. In addition, the Virgin Islands National Park offers a variety of ranger-led activities, such as guided hikes, bird watching, and other activities. The park is free to access, however, some locations, including Trunk Bay, have entrance fees.
